2013 marks a special year for us at Holistic Moms – our 10th Anniversary! Each and every year, we learn something new along our holistic living journey – a way to live healthier, greener, or more mindfully.
Living holistically is a journey, not an endpoint. There are many possible roads to take along the way, but the journey itself is worth traveling especially with good friends and support along the way.
To mark this special year, we’re kicking off 2013 with our Holistic Living Challenge! No matter where you are along your own personal holistic journey, you can join us by taking part in a monthly challenge with opportunities to learn, inspired, and grow. We’ll travel together and throw in some great prizes and events along the way. Let’s dive in and get started!
Take Care of YOU! May 2013 Challenge
The Challenge: Here at Holistic Moms, May is all about celebrating Moms, not just for Mother’s Day but every day! So, we’ve
decided to make our May Holistic Living Challenge all about self-care – to celebrate moms and make sure they’re taking enough mom-me-time!
Our May challenge is “Take care of YOU!”
Take the challenge and share your experience for a chance to win great prizes from holistic companies that will further support you on your holistic living journey!
Actions You Can Take:
This is all about you, so do whatever feels right for you! Here are some ideas to get your gears going:
- Connect with your local Holistic Moms Network chapter to learn what other moms are trying and get tips for your challenge. Not a member? Sign-up today and get $10 off (making your membership less than $3 a month!) AND a bonus subscription to Organic Gardening Magazine!
- Cross a couple of things off the to-do list. Trust us, life will go on.
- Make time for yourself – you are important. Block out 30 minutes a day or a larger chunk of time once a week for some “mom-me-time.” If there’s no one to watch the kids for you, set a timer (for a reasonable amount of time based on their ages) and let them know they need to entertain themselves while you take a time-out. (And, during those moments, do something relaxing or enjoyable. “Mom-me-time” is not time to catch up on laundry.)
- Let go – it’s okay to be less than perfect.
Find out more on our blog, follow our challenge on Facebook or Twitter, and join in the fun!
NOTE: This is strictly a personal challenge for anyone interested in living more holistically – it’s not a contest to see who can do the most. No matter where you are on your holistic living path, you should feel proud about every small step you take and this year of challenges is simply meant to help you along – however it works best for you and your family!
